The Role

As a Pipe Fabrication Welder/Fitter, you will take responsibility for the fabrication, fitting and welding of various pipework systems and components in a workshop-based role. You will work closely with team members, assembling prefabricated pipework, carrying out TIG, MIG and arc welding, and ensuring all work meets stringent quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and fit a range of pipework systems and components.
  • Carry out TIG, MIG and arc welding to a high standard.
  • Work with stainless steel, mild steel, and other fabrication materials.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and fabrication details accurately.
  • Assemble and prepare prefabricated pipework and associated components.
  • Conduct quality inspections to ensure high standards are maintained.
  • Work collaboratively within the workshop and fabrication teams.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment.
  • Follow all relevant health and safety procedures.
  • Complete fabrication work efficiently and within agreed timescales.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in pipe fabrication and fitting.
  • Proficiency in TIG, MIG and arc welding techniques.
  • Sound practical knowledge of stainless steel and mild steel fabrication.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Strong understanding of welding, fabrication and workshop safety procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Experience in industrial, domestic, dairy or process pipework is advantageous.
  • Relevant welding or fabrication qualifications/certifications are preferred.
  • Certified Welding Engineer qualification/certification is required.
